Today is World Down Syndrome Day. Each year, on 3/21, World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day, is officially observed by the United Nations as it has since 2012.
Why 21 March? The date of the 21st day of the 3rd month, was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. You can find our more, including ways to donate and support at https://worlddownsyndromeday.org/.
Organizers encourage wearing #LotsOfSocks! But not just any socks… #LotsOfSocks socks, or other fun socks, are encouraged. https://worlddownsyndromeday.org/lots-of-socks
