This is a techie DIY for this week.  A genius SLP in my district utilizes Google Drive for data tracking.  After playing around with this method, and falling in love with the simplicity and Earth-Friendlyness of it for attendance tracking, I just HAD to share it with you!  It has been a time and lifesaver for this multiple-building SLP!  Below are images and screenshots of the process.  Let me know if you have any questions or if I haven’t explained something in great enough detail.  Click on any image to view a larger version.  I hope this helps some of you with keeping data…
Other FAQ about this topic:
Q: Is this accessible on the iPad?
A: Yes, you can access this form or response form on your iPad for tracking on the go!

Q: Are google docs HIPAA compliant?
A: This answer is a little ambiguous.  I found a few articles that spell out some answers (Click here and Here) but I would caution you against using information such as DOB or SSN.  Other information, if you store it correctly (Security setting for you only to be able to view it!) then you should be safe with most information.

Welcome Back! http://sublimespeech.com/2013/08/welcome-back-2.html http://sublimespeech.com/2013/08/welcome-back-2.html#respond Tue, 27 Aug 2013 18:34:00 +0000 http://sublimespeech.com/2013/08/welcome-back.html Welcome back speechies!  Thanks for checking in with Sublime Speech!  We’re off and running with the 2013-2014 school year here (kids started on the 14th… where did summer go?!?) and I’m back to blogging.  I had a few “where are you?”s and “are you still blogging?”s over the summer.  So… where have I been?  Here you go:
Softball – I coach a traveling/competitive 12U (now 14U) fastpitch team.  We spend most of the year practicing and playing but summer is the busiest for travel and tournaments.  We spent time in OKC and doing a World Series.  We were VERY successful at the end of our season, winning a trophy in each of our last three tournaments and placing 4th or above in the last four!  SO proud of them!
Dog – My corgi got a wheelchair this summer because of a spinal injury that decreased her movement and coordination of one of her back legs.  We spent some time getting used to her new wheels…
Photography – I do a little bit of photography on the side.  It is a passion of mine and I spent my grad school years working part time as a photographer’s assistant.  This summer I got the opportunity to photograph my very good friend’s wedding!
Travel – My mom, sister and I left on a long roadtrip after softball.  We went from KC to Springfield to STL (via Route 66) to Nashville to Birmingham to Panama City Beach.  Then we came back through Memphis to KC!  It was crazy but we saw a lot, did a lot, and had a lot of fun!
Move – I moved!  I picked the worst time to do it too… the first weekend after school started.  Oy!  I’m mostly moved in now and love it!  The downtown life is for me… so glad to be back there!
It’s been a busy one!  I hope you have had a great summer as well!
So, what’s on the plate this year at Sublime Speech?  So much!  I’m very excited for some new and returning posts and materials.  Here’s what to keep an eye out for:
And much more!
Stay in contact with Sublime Speech for great information, products, and giveaways all year!
Get ready, here comes another great year!
