I use a lot of activities for structured story-telling in stuttering therapy. Love these cubes and your well organized way of using them. Katykate

Thanks for the template! Great idea for creative writing, public speaking or ice breaker activities!

Comment on R-E-S-P-E-C-T: Find Out What it Means to SLPs. by Colleen http://sublimespeech.com/2016/09/respect-slps.html#comment-33134 Sun, 14 Oct 2018 12:23:25 +0000 http://sublimespeech.com/?p=2548#comment-33134 Thank you !!!!!!!! First I will admit that I am fortunate that I have a great space. … However everything else is spot on for me. I am having those moments where I absolutely love my work as an slp… but I am so so frustrated with constantly tying to advocate that I do so much more than just articulation (which is important)..but the scope of our training is so much more. I am frustrated with people who address the communication needs in meeting without deferring to the slp. The point you made about compensating for the certifications , licenses etc. spot on for me. When i request compensation for pd the response I typically get: “the funds have been depleted”. So often i have to pay for my own required professional development. Thank you for your post…. it felt good that I wasn’t the only one feeling this way.

Comment on Doctoral Decisions: Should You Pursue a Doctoral Degree & Which Program is Right for You by Stefanie Anastasia http://sublimespeech.com/2018/06/doctoral-decisions.html#comment-32370 Tue, 12 Jun 2018 16:59:36 +0000 http://sublimespeech.com/?p=2807#comment-32370 You GO Girl! The field of special education needs more people like you who have a more rounded view of the entire population, and the impact a speech;/language disorder has on the individual. It also helps knowing where speech is PART of the impairment, NOT the impairment itself. Congratulations on your decision. Reach out for any help you may need – you have 2 years before I retire 🙂

Comment on Why I’m Proud to be “Just” a School SLP by SublimeSpeech http://sublimespeech.com/2016/01/just-a-school-slp.html#comment-32327 Wed, 23 May 2018 04:19:43 +0000 http://sublimespeech.com/?p=2389#comment-32327 A growth mindset is huge. Emphasize your personal qualities and willingness to learn. As far as not feeling overwhelmed… reach out! Find others in your district who can be of help. Perhaps set up some observations at the beginning of the year. It won’t be perfect but keep learning!
